The Africa Youth for Nature Network (AY4NN)

The Africa Youth for Nature Network (AY4NN), birthed from the #IAm4Nature Youth Conference in May 2019, drafted the Africa Youth for Nature Declaration with youth representatives from various African countries, to mobilize key stakeholders on the need to rally together to advocate and promote the need for a New Deal for Nature & People; where a shared and durable prosperity is enjoyed by people and nature.

The AY4NN, recognizing that youth are an integral part of the conservation agenda and sustainable development work, seeks to onboard African youth networks to collaborate with key stakeholders to call for a profound cultural change that seeks to appreciate the role of nature and people in creating shared value. AY4NN aims to keep youth voices resilient and motivated and in the forefront by amplifying the reach of thousands of active networks in Africa through capacity building initiatives, leveraging on easy access and facilitating links with key policy makers for African networks whilst building a community that enables African networks to connect, benchmark and create congruence in the fight toward creating a sustainable and regenerative environment.

#Iam4Nature Awareness Campaign

The #IAm4Nature Campaign aims to use the power of social media to raise the conservation agenda and to bring together different youth voices in Africa. On a global level we call on governments and other stakeholders to recognize and invest in the ambitions of the African youth towards conservation of biodiversity, and to adopt and promote sustainable, innovative and proactive practices that encourage the well-being of both nature and people.
