Regional Director, Congo Basin
Martin Kabaluapa holds a Ph.D. in agronomy and soils from Auburn University, AL, USA. He has been serving as the WWF Congo Basin Director since August 2022, following his tenure as the WWF DRC Country Director from September 2019 to July 2022. Prior to his roles at WWF, Kabaluapa gained extensive experience in agricultural research, production, and extension in both the DRC and the US, as well as research funding grant-making in the environmental sector for the Canadian government. Kabaluapa also has experience in international development and humanitarian response, specifically in community resilience in Central, Western, and Eastern Africa, through his work with Oxfam GB (DRC, Congo Brazzaville, Mali) and the United Nations World Food Program (Kenya, Sudan(s), Burundi, Malawi, Zambia).
