WWF-DRC recruits a Risk and Compliance Manager.
 
Position Title : Risk and Compliance Manager
Reports to     : Chief Operating Officer (COO) ROA and dotted lines to the Country Director DRC.
Supervises    : Risk and compliance Officer, Records Assistant
Department   : Finances
Post base      : Kinshasa
 
  1. Mission of Department
 
To ensure a high performing WWF DRC Office with efficient operating systems, professional and skilled staff, and strong financial resources, delivering conservation impact on issues and in places that are key for WWF’s Network Initiatives and other global conservation priorities.
 
Ensure that internal accounting and finance operations in DRC comply with WWF standards and donor obligations.
 
 
  1.  Major Functions
 
  • Ensure the implementation of policies, procedures, and systems for all financial and administrative support services in WWF DRC, including accounting, financial reporting, administration, auditing, IT systems, budgeting, internal controls, and adherence to guidelines developed by WWF International;
  • Provide support to the Country Office in implementing the WWF DRC Internal Audit Plan;
  • Advise on opportunities for improvement as well as potential risks for WWF DRC Office.
 
III .     Major Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Develop an internal audit plan and perform Internal audits and special investigations;
  • Participate in the formulation of management response to external audits;
  • Evaluate Audit reports, prepare plans for implementation of recommendations and coordinate communication with WWF International;
  • Make recommendations on and contribute to the development of measures to strengthen the internal control environment;
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations;
  • Provide training to finance and non-finance staff on rules, policies, and procedures;
  • Provide support in the implementation of the WWF Risk Management framework including analyzing country risk context, strategic risk identification and analysis, ,  and treatment and ongoing risk monitoring ,communication and reporting
  • Support Country office teams in preparation of project/ landscape risk assessments for Quality Assurance Committee and Conservation Quality Committee
  • Ensure that all WWF DRC offices properly monitor and fulfil contractual obligations;
  • Ensures that external and internal audits are properly organised, and that there is proper and timely follow-up of audit recommendations;
  • Carry out periodic evaluations of WWF DRC financial reports, systems, procedures, and internal controls;
  • Carry out internal investigation as requested by the management team;
  • Ensure that all WWF DRC offices apply the WWF International Field Operations Manual as set out in the appropriate manuals, and, where appropriate, coordinate the preparation of local versions of these procedures.
 
IV.  Profile
 
Required Qualifications 
  • An Advanced degree in Finance, Audit, or Management;
  • At least 5 years’ experience as Internal Controller, Auditor or Finance Manager in a reputable organization;
  • Demonstrated skills in developing, managing, and implementing Audit Plans in large and complex organizations;
  • A thorough knowledge of accounting software’s; and very good IT Skills;
  • Experience working with international organizations involved in environmental and/or community issues would be an advantage.

  • Good leadership abilities;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, within WWF and, as required, with external stakeholders;
  • Experience working with government and donors;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and French;
